A birding field trip that will focus on both observing the amazing birds of Idaho as well as learning some key photography techniques to enable you to capture some wonderful photos. Ceredig Roberts, an avid birder and wildlife photographer, will lead a small group to some of the best locations in SW Idaho. Bring your camera equipment & binoculars and we will have a great time!
This field trip will visit Blacks Creek Reserve, an amazing bird oasis located 10 miles east of Boise. The class will meet at the main parking lot at Blacks Creek. There is a vault toilet available near the parking lot. The majority of the terrain will be rugged and will require off-trail travel. Face coverings will be required for all participants.
Bird species you can expect to see include: Lesser Yellow Legs, Norther Harrier, Snow Goose, Cinnamon Teal, Northern Pintail, Ruddy Duck, Eared Grebe, Western Grebe, American Avocet, Black-necked Stilt, Long Billed Curlew, Least Sandpiper
This class will have a maximum of 3 participants and will last for approximately 4.5 hrs. There will be no refunds but the class will be rescheduled if necessary due to weather.
Price: $60 per person for GEAS members, $120 per person for nonmembers
