Guitarist Ben Monder has performed with a wide variety of artists, including Jack McDuff, Marc Johnson, Lee Konitz, George Garzone, Paul Motian, and Maria Schneider. He has conducted clinics and workshops around the world, and served on the faculty of the New England Conservatory. Monder continues to perform original music internationally with his own quartet, trio, and in a duo project with vocalist Theo Bleckmann. He has appeared on over 120 CDs as a sideman, and has released five as a leader including his latest: Hydra (Sunnyside, 2013). In the past couple of years, Ben had mostly been at barbes playing his solo guitar set - which we love - so it is fitting that he should give us a locked down solo piece. And, we have such fond memories of our very first year, 2002, when we tried to host a brunch on sundays - a business we certainly knew nothing about, and Ben would play in our backroom, mostly to friends. Ah, youth…
We are launching a series of intimate concerts with a limited audience of 12 - our dirty dozen.
Tickets by reservation only, $25 per person.
Social distance will be enforced.
Tickets are sold as 2 tables of 4 and 2 tables of 2
All shows will also be live-streamed on our YouTube Channel
