About the Event

If you are going to run, RUN AUSTIN! The Ascension Seton Austin Marathon invites you to the Running Social Event of the Year on February 16, 2025!

You will be treated to a bucket list experience and some of Austin’s finest sightseeing! Enjoy miles of Austin’s unique neighborhoods, iconic landmarks, and be greeted by cheering crowds as you close in on the finish line in front of the Texas State Capitol on historic Congress Ave.

Come explore our culture-rich city and truly experience The Live Music Capital of the World with live music on the course and a downtown concert. With a downtown finish line festival, the Austin Marathon weekend is the perfect running event for locals, visitors, and families looking for a fun marathon and an unforgettable experience. Plus, you will be within proximity to the hottest hotels, restaurants, and shops!

After amazing years supporting teachers in 2022, and nurses in 2023, City of Austin & State of Texas employees in 2024, 2025 is a celebration of Food & Beverage Industry Employees. These employees will receive 50% off registration.

7:40 AM - Wheelchair Start – 5K

7:45 AM - 5K benefitting Paramount Theatre Start

8:05 AM - Let’s Party! OOFOS Finish Line Festival Opens

9:30 AM - 5K Awards available for pick up at the Awards Tent (7th & Congress Ave)

9:45 AM - Half Marathon Elite awards available for pick up at the Awards Tent (7th & Congress Ave)

10:00 AM - Marathon Elite Awards available for pick up at the Awards Tent (7th & Congress Ave)

10:30 AM - Half Marathon Age Group Awards available for pick up at the Awards Tent (7th & Congress Ave)

11:30 AM - Marathon Age Group Awards available for pick up at the Awards Tent (7th & Congress Ave)

11:00 AM - Half Marathon Course Closes

2:00 PM - Full Marathon Course closes

DIVISIONS & AWARDS

In addition to the commemorative finisher medal received by every finisher of the 2023 Ascension Seton Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K, Awards will be given to the following categories.

ELITE

Elite awards are based on gun time. Only accepted elites compete for elite awards and prize money, details on the elite program.

AGE GROUP

Age group awards are presented for the:

– Ascension Seton Austin Marathon

– Ascension Seton Austin Half Marathon

– Austin Marathon KXAN SimpleHealth 5K benefitting Paramount Theatre.

Age group awards will also be presented to the top 3 male and female in each age group, starting at 19 & Under and going to 85+ in 5-year increments. An age group masters champion will be awarded.

19 & Under 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-85, 85+.

All age group awards, and all 5K awards, are based on chip time.
