About the Event
The Altschuler Summer Music Institute Chamber Ensemble (ASMI) returns for an enchanting evening of music at Highfield.
Pianist Thomas Pandolfi, cellist Sam Ou, and violinist Emil Altschuler perform Tchaikovsky’s Piano Trio in A minor and Dvorak’s “Dumky” Trio in E minor. Pandolfi trained under Vladimir Horowitz at Juilliard and has received accolades for everything from Chopin to Bach to Gershwin. Award winning cellist, Sam Ou, enjoys an active musical life in the Greater Boston area and is a faculty member and assistant chairperson at NEC’s Preparatory School and School of Continuing Education. Acclaimed violinist, Emil Altschuler, studied at Juilliard under Dorothy DeLay and Naoko Tanaka and the Yale School of Music under Erick Friedman. In addition to performing around the world, he is extensively involved in music education.
“They well served the inner spirit and deeper meanings of the music, holding the audience rapt, utterly silent, and focused on every note during the entire concert. That concentration was more than amply rewarded by performances that were fascinating and illuminating in every respect. And happily, they are just as appealing to see as to hear.” –Bill Wieting, PACM
