Join us for a conversation and Q&A with Paul Moakley, Editor at Large for Special Projects at TIME. Paul is known locally as the curator and caretaker at the Alice Austen House.
In conjunction with our current online exhibit, Know Me, we are thrilled to welcome Paul for a conversation about photographic storytelling, portfolio development, how to pitch editorial, and the process through which he commissions and collaborates with visual journalists for TIME. All are welcome: emerging and experienced photographers, documentary storytellers, filmmakers and friends.

About Paul Moakley
Paul Moakley is Editor at Large for Special Projects at TIME. He served as Deputy Director of Photography and Visual Enterprise of TIME from 2010 - 2018. Today, Moakley produces visually driven journalism for TIME such as Opioid Diaries, 100 Photographs: The Most Influential Images of All Time, A Year Inside The Capital Gazette, and TIME’s historic Person of the Year francise. He was part of the Emmy award-winning team that produced TIME’s interactive documentary Beyond 9/11: Portraits of Resilience. Previously he was Senior Photo Editor at Newsweek and Photo Editor of PDN (Photo District News).
