Join leaders, Dave Govatski of the Friends of Pondicherry, and Phil Brown, Director of Land Management for NH Audubon, for a guided bird watching tour around Airport Marsh in Whitefield (for grassland and marsh birds), then to Cherry and Little Cherry Ponds in Jefferson (warblers and other songbirds). This annual field trip commemorates the return of migrating birds and the memory of Tudor Richards, NH Audubon’s first President and the “father of Pondicherry”. Bring water, lunch and binoculars. Past field trips have yielded upwards of 100 species of birds!
Be prepared to walk 3-5 miles on flat terrain. Stay for as long as you’d like; the last group usually ends around 3 pm. The event will be held rain or shine.
Free and open to the public. WMBD posters for all participants.
An evening program with a wrap up of the day’s discoveries will follow at The Rocks on 4 Christmas Lane in Bethlehem. A social hour begins at 6pm with the evening program at 7pm.
