Many of us know the challenges and rewards of caring for loved ones. Whether taking care of spouses or parents, helping out with grandkids, or in other ways navigating the challenges of aging, AARP Maine thanks you and recognizes your labor of love.
With this in mind, we would like to invite you to a special event in Portland on May 8th. Our office is delighted to welcome AARP’s Family and Caregiving expert, Amy Goyer, to Maine. Amy is the author of "Juggling Life, Work, and Caregiving” and is a nationally known expert on aging and families, specializing in family caregiving, grandparenting and multigenerational issues. A caregiver most of her adult life , Amy has spent more than 30 years advocating for and serving older adults and families. She is a recognized media authority, and has appeared on Good Morning America, Today, CBS This Morning and numerous other broadcast and print media outlets.
Please join us on Wednesday, May 8th, for a unique event with Amy, just for women, at the beautiful Victoria Mansion in downtown Portland. We will be serving tea and delicious pastries at this historic landmark. The doors will open at 5:00pm for this private event, and Amy will speak briefly in the foyer at 5:30pm. We will have helpful materials about family caregiving available for you to take home, and Amy will be available for small group and individual conversations. The mansion will be open for complimentary tours until 6:30pm.
Due to the limited capacity of the mansion, this event has a strict maximum of 50. Please register today to reserve your spot.
