About the Event
Join AARP CA for a walk audit and park audit at University Gardens Park, where we’ll explore what makes a community livable, focusing on the intersection of walkability and parks and open spaces. These elements are vital to creating environments where older adults and families can thrive. Participants will receive an overview of walk and park audits and engage in a hands-on experience in a University City neighborhood frequented by older adults and families.
You’ll join one of two teams: a park audit team or a walk audit team, and together, we’ll assess the area. Afterward, the teams will reconvene to share findings, contributing to ongoing efforts to improve safety and accessibility in the community. Don't miss this opportunity to help shape a more livable neighborhood!
This activity requires light walking. Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.
