About the Event
AARP Connecticut is collaborating with the CT Department of Aging & Disability Services to present a monthly series aimed at helping professionals at organizations serving a diverse public gain skills to make digital communication accessible to all. The sessions will be led by Dr. Lauren Tucker, an assistant professor at Southern Connecticut State University with expertise in assistive technology, universal design for learning, and technology implementation. The goal is to promote innovative thinking on how you can facilitate in-person, virtual or hybrid offerings.
This session will focus on Smart TVs and streaming services as another option supporting the individual in navigating the digital space. This also will be useful to organizations using a hybrid option to engage more individuals in person while serving others virtually to increase social integration. Learning about pairing devices with other adaptive, supportive technology can provide you with an understanding of what is needed to provide greater accessibility for those you support. This will be a great session for those involved in senior center, library and community center programming as well as caregivers.
