About the Event

Our Virtual U series invites you to take a walk through musical history as we examine the influence of key artists, led by Age-friendly University educators Professor Stephen Armstrong and Dr. Gil Gigliotti.

In this session, “Sinatra: A Storied Singer,” Dr. Gigliotti will help us dive into the Sinatrauma of the Bobbysoxers, take us through his iconic fall and rebirth and explain how he came to be known by the nickname Chairman of the Board. Hear why Frank Sinatra embodied the "American Century," learn about Sinatra's most entertaining and significant performances in song and film, and get a look behind the scenes at Sinatra’s wives, lovers, friends and politics.
