Quiet your mind by bringing attention to your breath in this mind-body class.
About the Event
Tai chi is a mind-body exercise of gentle, flowing movements that help strengthen the largest muscle groups, which are used for walking and balance and are the first to atrophy as we age. It also may improve memory and thinking skills and help fight depression. The deep diaphragmatic breathing practiced in this class has been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce heart rate, decrease stress hormones, exercise the lungs, increase physical and mental energy and improve immunity. Please consult your physician before beginning any new exercise regimen.
The class is led by American Council on Exercise (ACE)-certified instructor Mitch Menik, who primarily works with adults age 55 and older and holds an ACE Senior Fitness Specialist Certification and an ACE Orthopedic Exercise Specialist credential.
This is a recurring class on Thursdays. You must register separately for each class you’re interested in attending and complete a waiver of liability as part of the registration process. Please do not opt out of event-related emails, as you will be emailed a link to join the class via Zoom prior to the event.
