To support the protection of the lands, waters and wildlife found in a special part of the Pisgah National Forest, several national and local conservation organizations have teamed up to conduct songbird research in a part of the Pisgah National Forest known locally as Big Ivy.
Veterans, military and family members are invited to join biologists as they share their early findings from this research and explain the technology that is being utilized to identify which species of birds are nesting in our study area. This outing will involve a short walk to look and listen for birds.
We will meet at Cane River Gap which is at the top of NC197 at the Buncombe/Yancey County line.
