In this two-part session, we’ll discuss the facts about Alzheimer’s disease and share a framework to help care for a loved one affected by it.
About the Event
Join the Alzheimer’s Association and AARP California for a two-part session to learn about Alzheimer’s disease and how to prepare to be a caregiver.
Part 1 Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia: Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part of aging. Learn about the impact of Alzheimer’s, the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, stages and risk factors, current research and treatments available for some symptoms. We’ll also share Alzheimer’s Association resources.
Part 2 Prepare to Care: No matter where you are in the journey of family caregiving – just beginning to anticipate a need, helping to coordinate a big move or taking care of a family member full-time – having a good framework to guide both you and your loved one will make the process easier. During this discussion, we’ll share a framework to help you make plans to care for friends, family members or loved ones.
