On June 9, 1945, the US Army launched one of the largest amphibious landings of the war, putting 175,000 troops on the beachhead at Luzon. In that group were Mainers from the 103rd Infantry Regiment and 152nd Field Artillery Battalion. Already veterans, Luzon would be the toughest test of their abilities. Confronted with a strong enemy, incredibly difficult terrain, and miserable weather, the Mainers never flinched or faltered but continued fighting on until the very end. **This event is FREE and Open to the Public.
