Join AARP Nevada and attendees from across the U.S. for a FREE presentation on the impact of digital games on May 19th at 4pm PT – AARP membership not required.

Video games are now the fastest-growing entertainment media, generating more sales than the movie and music industries combined.  When we think about video games, our mind may conjure up the image of a teenager on the computer or sitting on the couch playing a game console on the television.  But the average age of the typical gamer is now in the mid-30s, with people age 50+, particularly women, representing one of the fastest-growing demographics.

While playing games online and on our phones is a harmless pastime for most of us, the pandemic has created and exacerbated many risk factors that can lead to problematic gaming habits that can negatively impact many areas of one's life.

This engaging webinar will discuss the difference between healthy recreational game play and problematic gaming behavior, build awareness of the increasing overlap between gaming and gambling, and shed light on the impact of gaming disorder on adults of all ages, children, and the family as a whole. Participants will be provided information on resources for individuals and their family members who are dealing with a gaming or gambling problem.

“Attendees will receive an AARP branded surprise & delight thank you item from AARP Nevada while supplies last.”
