Walk with a Doc Boston is one of our newest programs and we are in need of 2 volunteers to assist with the event. Responsibilities include arriving to the event at 10:45 AM which is 15 minutes prior to the event start time. Volunteers will welcome participants, check them in, and give them our welcome materials if this is the first time they have attended. Welcome materials include a WWAD (Walk with a Doc) shirt and pedometer. Volunteers also welcome our guest doctor(s) and introduce them at the beginning of each walking event. Volunteers are then welcome to walk with the doctors and participants for the remaining time.
The general event description is below: Walk with a Doc is a walking program for everyone interested in taking steps for a healthier lifestyle. You’ll take a few minutes to learn about a current health topic from a healthcare professional, then spend the rest of the hour enjoying a healthy walk and fun conversation. It’s a great way to get out, get active, and enjoy all the benefits that come from walking. Walk your own pace and distance. When the weather is bad we will meet inside the Prudential Shopping Center and on good weather days we will meet at the Boston Common (refer to maps for exact location).
