Celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Social Security at Juneteenth!

Join us at Juneteenth Lehigh Valley on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Juneteenth is a holiday celebrated on June 19th, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. It marks the day in 1865 when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas with news that the Civil War had ended and all slaves were free.

We will have Social Security resources at this event because this year marks the 90th anniversary of Social Security a cornerstone of financial security in America. For nine decades, it has kept hundreds of millions of Americans out of poverty and given families across the country peace of mind and dignity in retirement. At AARP, were honoring this milestone by celebrating the success of Social Security as a lifeline to millions of Americans.
