About the Event

Join us for an enlightening conversation about work in America since June 19, 1865, with:

Thanayi Jackson, Ph.D., Professor of History at California Polytechnic State University
Vikita Poindexter, Founder & CEO of Poindexter Consulting Group
David Crippens, Workforce Consultant

Our panel will discuss how Black Americans have navigated the American work culture - from slavery to board rooms.

The talk will connect the importance of Juneteenth with the labor movement and explore areas such as work in the cotton fields, entrepreneurship, Black Wall Street and resources to support multicultural business owners today.
