Join AARP Texas for a fun, guided pickleball clinic with expert instructors
The AARP Pickleball Clinic is coming to Austin for one afternoon only, and you’re invited to be part of the action. This is your chance to learn and play America’s fastest-growing sport with licensed instructors, meet new people, and discover meaningful volunteer opportunities with AARP Texas.
Whether you’ve never picked up a paddle or you already play, the clinic has a spot for you. Sessions will cover warm-ups, rules, skills building and game play, followed by guided open play to put your new skills into action.
Registration is FREE but limited to the first 75 people who sign up. Secure your spot today before it fills. All participants must sign a General Liability Waiver.

1 to 2:30 p.m.| Pickleball Clinics (Choose Your Track)
• Pickleball 101: Intro Clinic (Beginners)
Perfect for newcomers! Learn the rules, try your paddle skills, and enjoy a fun, friendly introduction to the game.
• Pickleball 102: Skills & Drills Clinic (Intermediate)
Ready to level up? Practice advanced techniques, strategy, and match play in this dynamic clinic for players with some experience.
2:30 to 2:45 p.m. | Refreshments & Volunteer Info Fair
Enjoy a quick break with snacks and explore opportunities to get involved as a volunteer with AARP Texas.
2:45 to 4 p.m.| Guided Open Play
Hit the courts for open play! Our instructors will organize games by skill level so everyone gets plenty of action.
4 p.m.| Closing Huddle
Wrap up the day with new skills, new friends, and new ways to give back.

AARP Pickleball Clinic FAQs
What is pickleball?
Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong. Learn more about the sport at AARP.org/pickleball.
Will there be refreshments or food available at the event?
Yes. Food, water and other beverages will be provided during sessions.
Can I bring guests?
Yes, you can bring guests but all players participating in the clinic must register and sign a General Liability Waiver.
What if I’ve never tried pickleball?
This event welcomes all levels of players, from beginner to advanced.
What do I wear/bring?
We recommend wearing breathable, performance-style clothing as well as court shoes, paddle and water bottle. A state-issued ID will be requested upon check-in.
What is an AARP Pickleball Clinic?
AARP Pickleball Clinics are a free chance to learn and improve on basic pickleball techniques through in-person coaching. Participants can expect to share a court with other players while instructed on technique and game play by certified instructors.
What if there is inclement weather?
This clinic will be held indoors. If there are any changes, we will communicate through your email contact information provided upon registration as far in advance as possible.
Does the AARP Pickleball Clinic cost me anything?
This event is a free event to sign up for and does not require any additional cost upon arrival.
What if I do not have a paddle?
Paddles will be provided to all participants who may not have their own. So, you can still join in on the fun and enjoy the activity without any concerns about equipment.
