AARP staff and volunteers in Minnesota and all 50 states are active in state legislatures, ensuring that your elected representatives are addressing the issues important to older residents. In Minnesota, this year's legislative session begins on February 17.
Join us for happy hour at Whistle Binkies on the Lake where we will have food and drinks, and discuss what to expect in this year's legislative session.
AARP Minnesota's top legislative priorities in 2026:
- Preventing age discrimination from taking effect in Medicare supplemental insurance
- Stopping the fraud flowing through cryptocurrency kiosks across our state
- Expanding affordable housing options for older residents
AARP is a nonpartisan, nonprofit membership association that does not endorse political candidates or parties, or give campaign contributions. Instead, we mobilize our members and educate lawmakers about the issues. There is strength in numbers and we want YOU to join our advocacy efforts on behalf of all Minnesotans age 50 and older.
