AARP Hearing Center
Celebrate spring on a relaxed, joyful wildflower walk where we’ll explore blooming plants, spot seasonal birds, and soak up the beauty of nature at its mid‑May peak.
About the Event
Celebrate spring with AARP Vermont and former state botanist Bob Popp on a joyful wildflower walk at the Irish Hill Trailhead at Berlin Pond!
Mid‑May is prime time for blooms, and Bob—who spent over 30 years as Vermont’s state botanist—will help us discover the delicate, showy, and sometimes surprising plants that burst to life this time of year.
As we wander the trail at a relaxed pace, we’ll pause often to admire spring ephemerals, learn fun plant facts, and listen for the birds that mark the season’s return. Bob’s enthusiasm for the natural world is infectious, and his deep knowledge makes every leaf and petal feel like a small adventure.
Please dress for shifting spring weather, bring water and bug spray, and feel free to bring optional gear like binoculars or a hand lens. We’ll walk in light rain, but not in a downpour or thunderstorm.
