Join AARP Rhode Island, Jonathon Stalls and Garrett Brumfield for a one-of-a-kind, family-friendly movement experience.
Get Ready to Move, Groove, and Connect!
Join AARP Rhode Island for a vibrant, family-friendly movement event. Together, we’ll walk, roll, dance—whatever gets you moving! We will meet on the corner of South Water and Dollar Streets in Providence and parade to and along the flat, accessible paths surrounding the Michael S. Van Leesten Memorial Bridge in downtown Providence. Whether you're strolling or spinning, this event is designed for all ages and abilities.
Expect energizing music to keep the rhythm alive; glow sticks, water, and snacks to keep you fueled and festive; and a chance to meet new people, have fun, and celebrate movement. The event will feature Jonathon Stalls—walking artist, activist, and author of WALK: Slow Down, Wake Up, and Connect at 1-3 Miles per Hour—and Garrett Brumfield, dynamic speaker, disability rights advocate, and sit-down comedian. Come as you are, move how you like, and be part of this one-of-a-kind event!
This event is part of Walktober, a month-long series of walking and rolling experiences that promote health, connection, and joy. Check out all of the Walktober happenings at:www.aarp.org/RIWalktober
