Don’t miss the AARP-sponsored exhibit Expedition 1776: The Journey of Dominguez & Escalante. In 1776, two Franciscan Friars set out from Santa Fe to reach California, traveling through territory unknown to the Spanish. With Indigenous guides and the help of Native tribes, they navigated harsh terrain, mapped vital trade routes, and documented Native cultures that had thrived for centuries. Their journey reflects a rich history of cultural exchange and perseverance that continues to shape Latino heritage in the Southwest.
History Colorado Center, 1200 N Broadway, Denver, CO Open daily, 10 AM–5 PM. Tickets are limited. No refunds, cancellations, or waitlists. Please register only if you plan to attend.
