About the Event
Bonnie Manns Roache, author of Your Daughter, Your Advocate: A Daughter’s Account of Caring for her Mother Against Lewy Body Dementia in a Flawed Care System, will discuss her caregiving journey and lessons learned in this conversation hosted by Insight Memory Care Center of Fairfax, Virginia.
Bonnie’s book describes the challenges she faced in caring and advocating for her mother, Mary Alice, who was coping with Lewy body dementia in a care system motivated by concerns about corporate policy, risk and profits. She shares their story to help caregivers appreciate that they are not alone on their journey and to point to simple care approaches that helped Mary Alice.
