Join us for the 2020 AARP Andrus Award for Community Service Virtual Ceremony on Friday, December 11th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00  p.m. where we will be honoring Tia Scigulinsky, a longtime volunteer, via the Zoom virtual platform.

Tia Scigulinsky has been an active volunteer with AARP for over 15 years. She is currently the chair of AARP Rhode Island's State Legislative Committee as well as the leader of the AARP East Coast Chapter Advisory Team (CAT) that promotes unity on issues and chapter building and growth. Former AARP volunteer positions include president of the Rhode Island Retired Teachers and president of the  AARP RI Chapter #207.  Tia's  volunteerism extends beyond AARP as she dedicates many hours with local  organizations including Child and Family Services, The Portsmouth Library, Rhode Island PBS and the Naval War College.

We are pleased to award Tia with our most prestigious volunteer award. The Andrus Award is named for AARP's founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, and recognizes individuals who are sharing their experience, talent and skills to enrich their communities in ways that are consistent with AARP's mission, vision, and commitment to volunteer service, and that inspire others to volunteer.

AARP’s commitment to community service can be traced back to the life and vision of our founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus. From the beginning, her motto – “To serve, not to be served” - has shaped our community service efforts at the national, state, and local levels. Each year, AARP selects one volunteer from each state as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands to honor the legacy of Dr. Andrus with the Andrus Award for Community Service, our most prestigious and visible volunteer award.

We look forward to you joining us on December 11th!

PLEASE NOTE: ONCE YOU COMPLETE REGISTRATION, THE ZOOM LINK FOR THIS EVENT WILL BE SENT TO YOU IN A CONFIRMATION EMAIL.
