Join us for a talk on the latest online frauds and scams and scam-prevention tips.
About the Event
Learn how to protect your money and personal information from criminals and cons! Volunteers Sunny Lucia and Kay Tomlinson from the AARP Fraud Watch Network will share information on the latest online criminal traps to watch out for and scam-prevention tips to help you protect yourself. They’ll take your questions, too.
Joining us will be national fraud speaker Doug Shadel, who will give an update on the latest on A.I.-generated content, like deep fakes and voice cloning, and how they’re used to manipulate consumers. He’ll show real-world examples of how A.I. can be used to deceive. Doug is an award-winning consumer fraud educator and researcher who has written many of AARP The Magazine’s top rated cover stories and appeared regularly in the national media. He’s also the former AARP Washington state director.
