We invite you to participate in a lunch and learn on the Confluence River Park.
About the Event
Join AARP and the VT River Conservancy to find out more about the Confluence River Park, located in downtown Montpelier.
This park will offer river access, boat put-in, fishing access, and a place to enjoy all our rivers have to offer. This park will offer a unique opportunity to experience the full potential of a more accessible and welcoming public space for recreation and socialization for people of all ages and abilities.
We will cover important topics, such as:
- How park design will create spaces accessible to people with a range of abilities
- How the park will withstand future flooding events
- How other communities have used riverfront parks to foster vibrant downtown businesses
- How the park will account for the site’s current users who are experiencing housing challenges
This presentation, with a guest speaker from Franklin, NH, will happen in the Hayes Room at the Kellogg Hubbard Library in Montpelier, VT.
Lunch will be provided. Registration is required.
