Join AARP and Local Motion for this virtual workshop that’s intended for older adults who are interested in getting back on their bike, expanding their biking comfort level, and looking for a refresher on bike safety and rules of the road.
Whether you’re looking to get back into recreational riding or to take the next step and use your bike for transportation, this workshop will review what you need to know and answer any questions you have about biking.
Participants will learn:
● How to make sure your bike is safe to ride with the ABC Quick Check
● How to map out a route that fits with your available time and comfort level
● How to stay safe and seen with correct signaling
● A review of rules of the road (and rules of the bike path)
There will be plenty of time for questions throughout the workshop as well as time at the end, so come with any and all questions you have about biking and staying safe while riding! We will also do a brief pen and paper exercise to help you plan out your next (or first) ride.
The workshop will be offered in July, August and September, each covering similar content but with some new topics as interest comes up.
