Connect with others (virtually) in this Extra Gentle Yoga and Guided Meditation for Healthy Aging class, as we focus on movements to help alleviate pain and improve circulation.

Join AARP Nevada, Wyoming and attendees from across the U.S for a FREE virtual Extra Gentle Yoga and Guided Meditation for Healthy Aging class at 1:00 p.m. ET | 12:00 p.m. CT | 11:00 a.m. MT | 10:00 a.m. PT - AARP membership not required.

This class uses extra gentle movements to calm the nervous system and relax the body. Following the physical practice, students move to a comfortable place to lay down to enjoy a guided meditation designed to strengthen your vitality and find better sleep. Sleep is an essential function that allows your body and mind to recharge, leaving you refreshed and alert when you wake up. Good sleep also helps the body remain healthy and stave off diseases. Most people think that relaxation is very simple; just recline and close your eyes. We are tired, you go to bed and think that is relaxation. But unless you have released your muscular, mental, and emotional tensions, we may not be relaxed. Discover how guided meditation promotes health and sleep by deeply resting the body and mind. Join AARP Nevada & Wyoming and certified instructor Jahaira Farias for this Restorative Yin Yoga class. Practice movements that may help alleviate pain and improve circulation.

Your instructor, Diane Butera, is a 500 RYT-E yoga educator. She is committed to empowering students with fitness education that honors individual differences, and our innate ability to heal. She uses a variety of mindfulness tools to further wellness of body, mind, and spirit. Diane’s cancer diagnosis 12 years ago led her to become a strong advocate for healing through mindfulness practices, particularly guided meditation. She teaches authentically, with a true passion for supporting her students.

  • Participants of all experience levels and abilities are welcome. Follow at your own pace – make it work for you!
  • Individuals who are caring for a loved one are strongly encouraged to attend - remember to take care of yourself!
  • This class is delivered virtually via the Zoom platform and is free for AARP members and guests.
  • Pre-registration is required and space is limited.
  • Each participant in this event must complete a waiver of liability as part of the registration process prior to participating. If you would like to invite a guest to this event, they will need to register themselves directly to agree to the liability waiver.
