Every two seconds, someone’s identity is stolen. That is why it is more important than ever to carefully dispose of personal records such as credit card statements, checking account statements, prescription documents and medical insurance files.

The Austin chapter of ARMA, Shred-It and AARP Texas are sponsoring the seventh-annual Free Spring Shred Day. Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 27th, 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Shred-It facility at 4129 Commercial Center Dr. The event is weather permitting.

Drop off your boxes of documents to be shredded on-site by the bonded disposal professionals. A mobile shred unit will be available for attendees who wish to witness their records be destroyed. We will only accept dry paper packed in cardboard boxes with fitting lids no larger than 24” x 24” x 36” (i.e. no hard plastics, no plastic bags, no electronic media, no batteries and no three-ring binders). All of the shredded material and cardboard boxes are recycled. For additional specifications regarding what can be shredded and how it should be prepared, please visit www.austinarma.com/shred-day.

ARMA International is a not-for-profit professional association and the authority on governing information as a strategic asset. Over the years, this community event has shredded over 900,000 pounds of paper and collected over $70,000 for the local chapter and local charities.
