From 2pm to 5pm
Event is closed or full.
Join AARP Twin Cities for a bike ride around many of Minneapolis’ scenic urban lakes and stop for an cold German-style brew at the halfway point.
Riders will gather at the Lake Harriet Band Shell and embark on a 15-mile ride guided by the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota. We’ll tour the shoreside bike trails that skirt not one, not two, not three . . . but six lovely lakes in Minneapolis. We’ll break for a refreshing pint at Utepils Brewing on the bank of Bassett Creek. This ride includes bicycling in an urban setting (portions of which are on the road with cars) as well as the popular trail networks of the city. There is one big hill but we’ll make it to the top together!
Riders will depart the Lake Harriet Bandshell. Group start times are staggered to avoid congestion. The ride plus the brewery stop is expected to take up to 3 hours. The event is led by certified League of Cycling Instructors and our partners, BikeMN will be on hand for a quick safety talk and equipment check, before hitting the trails.
