Our State, Our Future: AARP Oregon Member Townhalls
This year, Oregonians will choose a new Governor, and AARP Oregon is offering a four-part virtual townhall series for members statewide to make their voices heard as they learn about critical issues impacting the 50+ community.
Join us from June through September for Our State, Our Future townhalls. These interactive events will feature subject matter experts and provide participants the opportunity to share their perspectives and experiences on issues that matter to them. The third townhall in the series will take place in August and will focus on Financial Resilience.
Financial Resilience: Age-Discrimination, Retirement, Consumer Protection
August 11, 2022 from 12:00 pm-1:15 pm
Over half of Oregon workers age 45+ are extremely or very concerned about having enough income or savings to retire and two-thirds believe older workers face age discrimination in today’s workplace. The pandemic has impacted the economy and caused significant hardships. People 50+, especially women, African Americans and Latinos, have been disproportionately impacted by job loss and loss of savings.
Join this virtual townhall to share your experience and learn about key issues related to financial resilience at 50+.
