Event is Cancelled

This event has been canceled.  While convening events such as this is a core part of our mission, we have changed our approach in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

We want you to know that AARP is providing information and resources to help older people and caregivers protect themselves from the virus and prevent its spread. You can find AARP's coronavirus resources at We also point you to, and your state and local health agencies for the latest information.

Please come join AARP Ohio for a Faith Leaders Breakfast. You can expect a diverse discussion with faith leaders from across the region about the 2020 Census and what is at stake for Ohio.

Date:     Thursday, Mach 19, 2020

Time:     9:00 am - 11:30 am

Place:    The Columbus Lincoln Theater

              769 E. Long Street

              Columbus, OH  43203

Without an accurate, complete count, our state is facing a loss of federal funding for our highways, education, and healthcare, as well as at least one Congressional seat. Adding to the urgency is the fact that the 2020 Census will be the first conducted primarily online.

The state of Ohio, AARP, and many others are particularly concerned about hard-to-count individuals and families not feeling appropriately encouraged or safe to participate in this Census count.

In addition to a complimentary breakfast in the ballroom of the beautifully restored Lincoln Theatre, you will have an opportunity to hear from Edna Kane Williams, who leads the national AARP Multicultural Markets and Engagement strategy and team for AARP. She has spent her career focused on the needs of older adults and multicultural communities. Ms. Williams has close ties to the faith community and was named one of Savoy magazines 2019's Most Influential Women in Corporate America.

Along with our co-hosts for this event, the Interfaith Association of Central Ohio (IACO), we recognize that leaders of faith are trusted voices within their communities and have been vital partners in previous census counts.

We hope that in 2020, as we prepare for what may be the most important census count to date for our state, you will join us for this unique opportunity. In order to accommodate dietary requests we are asking you to RSVP by March 11, 2020 at or calling (877) 926-8300. Please feel free to contact Ernestine Jackson with any questions at or (614) 222-1507.

We hope to see you there.
