Did you ever wonder what it takes to start and maintain a garden?
AARP Ohio invites you to use or discover your green thumb. Gardening supports brain, physical and mental health. As an element of healthy living, gardening focuses on food that is grown locally—in the backyard, in a pot on the deck or down the road at a community garden. This event will share tips on how to start and maintain a garden, beneficial exercises while gardening and simple recipes for local garden produce. Regardless of space, you can grow something!
Join our FREE Coffee Shop Conversation to learn about gardening, and how it promotes overall health and well-being. Therese Dyer, AARP Ohio statewide advocacy leader, Ernestine Jackson, AARP Ohio executive council member, and Rich Yepsen, AARP Ohio Volunteer team member, will host this community conversation with expert urban farmer and past AARP Ohio Andrus Award winner, Julialynne Walker. Beverages and a continental breakfast will be provided. Please use the FREE parking lot adjacent to the Bexley Public Library. (If you park along the street, please be aware that street parking is not allowed from 4 p.m.-6 p.m., violators will be towed.)
