What's in the Cup - Fall Prevention Workshop Part 1

Virtual Zoom Workshop

Contact: AARP New Mexico

Join AARP New Mexico and Villages of Santa Fe for What’s in the Cup – Fall Prevention, a two-part virtual workshop.

In just an instant, a fall can lead to a loss of independence. Older adult falls can result in traumatic brain injury, hip and lower extremity fractures, and reduced ability to live independently. Falls are not a natural part of aging and many can be prevented. This two-part, online workshop is designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels, focusing on:

  • The importance of an exercise routine
  • The importance of speaking up and being assertive
  • Reviewing medications, hearing, and vision issues
  • Positive interaction with healthcare providers and family
  • Making the home environment safer

The two-part workshop is delivered virtually via the Zoom platform on Monday, December 7th, and Monday, December 14th, and is free for AARP members and guests. Pre-registration is required and space is limited, so register today (please note - if you already registered for the December 7th session, you do not need to re-register for the December 14th session).

Each participant in this event must complete a waiver of liability as part of the registration process prior to participating. If you would like to invite a guest to this event, they will need to register themselves directly to agree to the liability waiver. Please consult your physician before beginning any exercise program.
