AARP Missouri and the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Missouri Chapter invites family caregivers in the Columbia area to gather and learn best practices in self-care and caregiving, discover community resources that can help as they care for a loved one, and decrease isolation by connecting with others who share a similar experience.
This event will bring together caregivers to build their confidence is providing care for someone living with dementia. Topics covered include:
· Building foundations of caregiving
· Supporting independence
· Communicating effectively
· Responding to dementia-related behavior
· Exploring care and support services
