Event is Cancelled

This event has been canceled.  While convening events such as this is a core part of our mission, we have changed our approach in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

We want you to know that AARP is providing information and resources to help older people and caregivers protect themselves from the virus and prevent its spread. You can find AARP's coronavirus resources at We also point you to, and your state and local health agencies for the latest information.

The Walking Group meets every Third Thursday of the month at the AARP Information Center inside the Mall of America – 228 W. Market, Bloomington, MN 55425 (3rd Floor between Macy’s and Nordstrom’s)

We will walk around the mall from 9:30-10:00 am and then will gather afterward from 10:00-10:30 am for coffee, healthy treats and a short health discussion. Our topic this month will be on the importance of socialization on brain health.

Please join us! All are welcome to attend!

Maintaining good cognitive health is key to healthy aging and a thriving, independent life. Research shows that supporting a healthy diet, regular physical activity, maintenance of social connections and management of chronic diseases can prevent cognitive decline.

The MOA Walking Group is offered by Health Aging & Caregiving Services from the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation and AARP and is funded, in part, by a Live Well at Home Grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
