Grandparenting from a Distance
Many of us are miles away from our grandchildren for a variety of reasons, but we still want to stay in connected. Despite the technology that is at our fingerprints, it is difficult and sometimes painful. This course will investigate creative ways to stay in touch with your grandchildren whether they are 1 year old or going off to college, whether they are one hour away or on the other side of the United States.
We will go beyond using technology to exploring new ways to find connections! Bring your questions and concerns.
Date: Wednesday, January 29
Time: 2:30pm - 4:00pm
Location: AARP Information Center at Mall of America
228 W. Market, Bloomington, MN 55425

Brief Description of Speaker:
Tom Rinkoski is a proud grandparent of 9 grandchildren who live scattered throughout the United States. His youngest grand just turned 1, and his oldest is looking at colleges. Living miles away from all of them, Tom has had to get creative in how to communicate so as to enjoy their friendship and presence in his life. This engagement is the beginning of a legacy you can leave your family! Tom is married to Theresa, father of 3 adult children and active in various AARP positions in the Twin Cities. Tom has an M.Ed. and always enjoys the opportunity to explore ideas with others.
