About the Event
As the 2024 election approaches, detecting misinformation (false or misleading info that spreads unintentionally) and disinformation (info that’s designed to deceive) is becoming increasingly challenging, given the growing sophistication of deepfakes. These faked images or recordings can be highly convincing, thanks to the use of artificial intelligence in creating them.
