AARP Long Island is collaborating with Bay Street Theater to bring this series of lifelong learning to YOU for FREE! This complimentary series features monthly seminars that focus on acting, improve, motivation and creative writing. AARP Long Island is committed to helping Long Islanders stay connected and stay healthy!
We must be mindful of the need to maintain our creative health and life-long learning wellness through establishing new routines and practices to support our self and healthy living during these times. Lifelong virtual seminars and classes offers members and guests many roads and many possibilities. The stage is an empty space that becomes anything at all. The process of brain-to-brain and social-emotional interaction makes things like improvisation and acting training uniquely effective for strengthening the capacity to cope with uncertainty, manage anxiety and boost the creative thinking that is so essential to navigating an increasingly complex world. Writing your own story, creating a legacy and public speaking are ways to increase communication skills, combat fears and gain confidence — all good things. Writing and public speaking can also help build up your ethos, or credibility, which makes people want to believe you because of your communication abilities.
