Expressing a strong desire to help create a more inclusive environment, businesses and individuals throughout the state added their financial support in the late 1990’s for the construction of the Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial. Anne Frank and Boise may seem like an unlikely pairing, but the legacy Anne left for human dignity strongly resonates in Idaho. Dedicated to the public on August 16, 2002, the Memorial is inspired by the words of Anne Frank and defenders of human rights throughout history.
Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial was designed to actively engage visitors to think, to talk with one another, and to respond to the human rights issues we face in our community, our state, our country, and our world. This world-class park, which has been profiled in several national publications, is the only Anne Frank Memorial in the United States, is one of the few places in the world where the full Universal Declaration of Human Rights is on public display and is recognized as an International Site of Conscience.
Each year over 10,000 visitors come to the memorial, and each has a deeply personal and often vastly different experience. Come join us for an in-person tour of the Memorial and experience this life affirming site here in Boise.
