Join "Walk With a Doc," for itʻs 10th Anniversary Celebration. The event will feature a guest speaker, health resource information, give away items and a "selfie booth," in addition to our normal walk. Whether youʻre a long-term participant or this will be your first event, we encourage you to attend.
What is "Walk With a Doc?"
Community members meet each Sunday at Queen Liliuokalani Gardens for a physician led health talk and community walk. It's free and everyone is welcome.
How it Works:
- No need to pre-register.
- Walkers fill out a one time liability waiver.
- Medical students from the John A. Burns School of Medicine and resident physicians from the Hawaii Island Family Medicine Residency Program start each walk with a short medical talk.
- The talk is then followed by up to an hour of walking.
- You can walk fast or slow, alone or with friends, it’s up to you!
It's a great way to motivate yourself to get more active and learn more about healthy behaviors. AARP Hawaii is proud to be a collaborative community partner for Walk With a Doc.
