Learn safety tips and basic self defense so that you can feel confident when out in the community.
This workshop will demonstrate basic safety and self-defense techniques and allow participants an opportunity to practice them. Get the knowledge and tools you need to protect yourself in the event of physical danger.
Participants will be asked to complete a liability waiver prior to participating.
About the Instructor: Evelyn Mizukami is a safety educator with Damsel in Defense. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice/PreLaw and has worked in the criminal justice system for over 30 years. She began her law enforcement career as a store security officer. She then became a police recruit, bailiff and a probation officer. With Damsel in Defense’s mission to equip, educate, and empower others, Evelyn is able to share her knowledge in various martial arts disciplines to educate others in safety and basic self-defense techniques.
This workshop is being held in collaboration with the Aiea Public Library.
