AARP Hawaii Neighbor Talks:

Be RED CROSS Ready - Emergency Shelter        

 As hurricane season approaches, learn how to be prepared, what to expect, where to go and what to take with you when you need to evacuate your home for an emergency shelter.  The Red Cross Disaster Preparedness team will teach you all you need to know.

 About the Speakers:

Diane Peters NguyenDiane Peters-Nguyen serves as the Regional Chief Executive Officer, Pacific Islands Region, American Red Cross. This region includes Hawaii, Guam, Northern Marianas Islands (Saipan) and American Samoa.

John T Blalock2

John Blalock serves as the Disaster Preparedness Manager for the Red Cross Pacific Islands Region. He is a retired Deputy Chief of Fire from Kauai and worked as Airport Safety Superintendent at HNL for 2 years after retiring. Throughout his career John has responded to multiple disasters and emergencies, from hurricanes, floods, brush/structural fires, and aviation crashes. Preparedness has always been a passion for John, and sharing it with the communities that he serves.
