Free Workshop:  Creating Equity in Transit-Oriented Development

Help ensure that development around transit and bus stops results in communities that are more livable for everyone by participating in a hands-on workshop.

  • Explore the concept of “Equitable Development,” and work with other community members and stakeholders to refine a community tool started by Hawaii advocates last year, called the Equitable TOD Score Card.
  • Prioritize the scorecard criteria
  • Learn how to engage residents, developers, and local decision makers in creating transit-oriented development that works for the whole community.

Christopher Coes, Vice President for Land Use and Development at Smart Growth America will lead this hands-on workshop that will build off of Hawaii's ongoing work to develop livable communities for residents of all ages, abilities, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Lunch will be provided.

Parking will be validated at Bishop Place (1132 Bishop Street).  Park on the 1st, 4th or 5th floor. Leave keys with an attendant if you double park.

Note: these parking stalls are quite small.  Suggested alternative parking is Alii Place on Alakea Street, which has inexpensive city rates (AARP can only validate in our building),
