Join AARP CO for a 6 week Restorative Yoga class in the comfort of your own home. Certified yoga instructor, Denise Dohanic will lead you each week, 7 p.m. MT, Wednesdays, March 13 – April 17, 2024.
AARP realizes that healthy habits, including exercise and eating right, can lead to a better, longer, happier life. Restorative Yoga is a style of yoga that encourages physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Appropriate for all levels, restorative yoga is practiced at a slow pace, focusing on long holds, stillness, and deep breathing. Benefits of this type of practice abound:
- Enhances flexibility
- Deeply relaxes the body
- Softens & surrenders the “monkey mind”
- Balancing & soothing to the nervous system
- Encourages mindfulness
- Develops compassion towards self & others
Props such as folded blankets, bolsters or cushions and blocks help support the body to then relax the body into a posture.
This class is free, but you must pre-register.You will need to register separately for each session you are interested in attending. Please note that you must be signed in to your AARP.org account or create an account to register. AARP membership is not required to create an account. Please do not opt out of event-related email, as you will be emailed a link to join the class via Zoom prior to the event.
Each participant must complete a waiver of liability as part of the registration process prior to participating. If you would like to invite a guest to this event, they will need to register themselves directly to agree to the liability waiver.
