Join AARP Colorado for NeighborWalks. Enjoy guided walks through some beautiful and interesting neighborhoods. Come meet others in your community, learn the history and join the fun. Walks will be led by a local historian.
The goal of NeighborWalks is to get more people walking every day for health, transportation, environment, and community. The walks are designed to be inclusive and are themed, educational and social events that bring neighbors together to explore neighborhoods and enjoy the cities walking and pedestrian infrastructure, historic and cultural districts, parks and public spaces.
Denver's Red Light District - Said to be the ‘oldest occupation,’ prostitution in downtown Denver left an indelible mark on the city’s history, development and even its street names. There was much to admire among the ladies, who acted as heroines in one of Denver’s bleakest hours, and there is much to admonish as well, for the women’s movements within their demimonde sometimes brought crime and corruption on themselves and those who visited them. It’s a story with a happy ending in store, so grab your yellow ribbons and join us for a jaunt down Denver’s Red-Light Row!
Guests are welcome at this event, and pre-registration is required. Each attendee must register themselves and agree to the waiver of liability in order to participate in the walk.
