The Arizona Commission of African American Affairs - Health Pillar and Family Tree Healthcare International will be holding its first annual Community Health Summit hosted by Phoenix Community College’s NAACP- Black Student Union (BSU). A team of informed professionals will leverage emerging research and evidenced-based practices to implement a leading educational summit; focused on specific needs of our seniors, families, and youth populations in areas of health and wellness. The purpose of the summit will be to provide resources and education for people affected with chronic diseases, senior citizens regarding mental health and nutrition, and parents seeking innovative strategies to help combat childhood obesity, suicide, and drug use. This is a family health summit and thanks to our partner, Help Enrich African American Lives (HEAAL), we will also have a day filled with workshops and activities for youth ages 10 to 17. This is a FREE event and open to the public.
