About

Located on the Mississippi River in the former Kendall Saloon at the foot of Main Street, the New Madrid Historical Museum reflects the history of this river town from the Mississippian period up through the early 20th century. The great earthquakes of 1811 and 1812 are well documented in the Museum's collections. The seismographic recordings on the premises give evidence of continuing activity along the New Madrid fault.
