Kiwanis Park, previously known as Cherokee Park, is located at Rotary Drive off Perryville Road and Lexington Avenue. This park contains 55.8 acres and was acquired by the City in 1972. The park contains four shelters, one pick-up baseball field, one small pond, two play structures, and one restroom facility.
Kiwanis Park is also home to the City of Cape Girardeau's first Dog Park aptly named "Dogtown". Dogtown is approximately one acre and is fenced with separate areas for small and large dogs. Each area has several amenities such as a tunnel, dog water fountain, fire hydrant, picnic tables and pooch disposal containers.
